Happy 2016! I realize we’re already more than halfway into January, but I’m a little slow getting started on quilting this month, so this is my first post of the year. Finally!
To start the year off, I’m sharing a quilt I gifted for Christmas. This was a gift for my aunt who lives in the frigid Midwest. A quilt has gotta come in handy this time of year, don’t you think?
The fabric I chose is the Flirt collection by Dear Stella. I thought it would fit my aunt’s personality and style! I also mixed in a few pink and gray solids that I had tucked away in my fabric stash.
I kept the back of this quilt pretty simple and used Robert Kaufman’s Quilter’s Linen in Platinum.
The Quilter’s Linen is a good choice if you want a fabric that has a bit of a textured look. Maybe you want something solid-like but not quite a solid; then this is a good option.
That’s it for today. I’m looking forward to lots of quilting in 2016. And let’s be real, lots of fabric collecting too!
